Day 3 - hittin' the waves at Napier

Daaaaay 3!!! Today we got a later wake up which was just what we needed after a loooong day.  Everyone knew this would be a great day because the sun was BEAMING.  Little did we know the day was going to be filled with thunderstorms and hail!! But, no matter the weather we were determined to make the very best of the day.

After another great breakfast at Edinburgh University we got right into the fun stuff, going to Napier University and getting an inside look at communications in radio.  Here all of us had to work in groups to make what would be a quick radio show on current events.  The groups were split up into research and "story finding" groups, journalists interviewing people on the street, and some respectable producers (Kyler, Julia, and Brandon).  The shows were very fun to make but also a lot of hard work.  We got a whole new taste of what goes on behind closed doors of recording studios and found a new respect for journalists.  After that we had a quick lunch in Napier University's cafe, a bit of R&R, but then it was right back into fun and learning with the photoshop workshop.  We learned about tons of interesting ways to make beautiful and "epic" pictures.  Some of us found it very hard to keep up while others flourished and truly made some real art.  After saying goodbye to the wonderful staff at Napier we moved on to......shopping!!!

Everyone had a great time hanging out and seeing a side of Scotland that we all felt a bit more comfortable in :) .  After a few kilts were bought, a few feet eaten by fish, and a few funny pictures, we were treated to real Scottish food at Howie's , a very old but gorgeous restaurant.  The few that dared to eat the haggis and chicken liver did get a little green in the face, but low and behold survived.

Well now its time for a quite night in to get ready for the big day ahead of us tomorrow with new workshops at Edinburgh University, a trip to Scottish Parliament, and a fun night of bowling....goodnight and an even better tomorrow!!!
